Saturday: ADay4Him.
From Cherie Behrens: "Thank you to all who attended ADay4Him on Saturday, April 5th! We had beautiful Spring weather and a fantastic turnout with over 350 people signed up to serve! New friendships were made, and we made a huge difference on campus and within our community. On campus we cleaned the school gym and the Fallon Center; we built a new children's sacramental garden; we spread mulch, gravel and pine straw; we cleaned up the Lourdes field and so much more! We also assembled birthday kits and soup kits to deliver to Catholic Parish Outreach. Off campus, we served at several wonderful organizations around the Raleigh area including Note in the Pocket, Brown Bag Ministries, Ronald McDonald House, Miracle League, Rise Against Hunger, Catholic Parish Outreach, Salvation Army, Oak City Cares and many more! Lastly we collected donations for Raleigh Rescue Mission and took over tons of hygiene products, diapers and underwear.
A big thank you to the Knights of Columbus who kicked off the day with an incredible pancake breakfast. With full bellies and grateful hearts, we left to serve our community as a community.
Another big thank you to Sheepdog for sponsoring the shirts and all our team leaders and committee members who worked countless hours behind the scenes to make sure this event went off without a hitch.
ADay4Him is a truly special event with a goal for volunteers to not just give one day and then to leave service behind, but to feel and embrace the joy of sharing Christ's love so serving becomes a consistent part of their lives.
Save the date for our Fall ADay4Him on Saturday, September 13th. We can't wait to see you again to Go. Serve. Love!
From the OLL News editor: "We have more photos than we can put in one OLL News email. This edition will cover the breakfast. Next week we'll look at the on-site projects. The third week will address the efforts by our parishioners in off-site projects and ministries. In addition, we'll provide a link next week to a more extensive library of photos for anyone interested."
