Father Tim Meares
Beginning July 1st, Fr. Tim Meares, a priest of the diocese of Raleigh, joined us at Our Lady of Lourdes as a part-time Parochial Vicar. It is a part-time assignment because the Parish, at this time, would not be able to afford the full salary of an additional priest. Fr. Meares will not be in the weekend rotation for Masses but will be doing the Thursday 8:30am Mass, followed by Confessions, and will be celebrating a Saturday morning Mass every Saturday at 8:30am followed by Confessions. In addition, beginning in August, he will celebrate a monthly First Friday Holy Hour with Confessions and Benediction at 5pm followed by Holy Mass at 6:00pm. He will also be present for Confessions on Wednesdays at Noon and Saturdays at 3pm giving us three priests which is a great blessing.
He will be doing much needed spiritual development with home enthronements to the Sacred Heart and preparing people for Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The preparatory talk for the first 33-day period will be Saturday, July 12th at 9:30am in the Fallon Center. People will then begin the preparatory period the following day July 13th in order to participate in the Consecration to Our Lady on August 15th.
From September through May, we will have a weekly Rosary Procession on Wednesday evenings at 6pm and other such spiritual activities. He will be available for home, hospital/sick visits, confessions, counseling and Hispanic ministry.
Fr. Meares will be a great benefit to us and will enable Fr. Kenneth and I to continue to serve our parish more attentively. Please join me in welcoming Fr. Meares to Our Lady of Lourdes. May God bless you abundantly.
Fr. Pat
