The Pew Crew
"Since Sunday and daily Mass resumed the weekend of May 23, safety procedures have been in place. Face masks and maintaining social distance are the new norm. And, after each gathering in the sanctuary the Church is sanitized by volunteers who wipe down the tops of pews, the arm rests, kneelers by the votive candles and saints’ relics, and all entrance and exit door handles. Using sanitizing spray, cleaning cloths and disposable gloves, each crew cleans the Church for the next Mass."

(Below) "Anita Nyberg, president of the Altar Guild, saw the need for increased safety precautions in this time of the coronovirus. Speaking at each Mass, she recruited two dozen parishioners to take on the task of cleaning the Church. “We do it to keep folks safe - - so they are able to come to Church,” said Anita, and adds, “We do it for Jesus.”
If interested in helping, call Anita 919-522-7606 for details. At this time, a list of substitutes is being developed to help as needed."
"On Friday July 24th, Our Lady of Lourdes hosted a "Men in Black" day for the seminarians discerning a vocation to the priesthood. There were about 43 young men in attendance, along with Fr. Phil Tighe, the Director of Vocations and Seminarian Formation. They enjoyed a fun-filled day of ultimate frisbee, kickball, & prayer as they continue to determine if a commitment to the priesthood is right for them. Their day finished up with a tasty dinner in the Fallon Center, sponsored by Our Knights of Columbus along with the Knights of the Thomas Price council. Newly-ordained Fr. Jairo Maldonado & Fr. Matthew Nwafor were also in attendance to wish their former classmates good luck and guidance. Let's all continue to pray for these men and their vocations, as they head off to seminary school in August!"

Love goes on...
"Our Lady of Lourdes just had our second marriage celebrated during the pandemic. Austin Faur and Missy Furman were determined to not let anything change their wedding plans. Their wedding was celebrated July 11, 2020 at 11AM with a reception that followed in the Fallon Center.
Both Austin and Missy are active in our parish and offer their services in many areas including and not limited to Confirmation II catechists and Adorers in the Adoration Chapel. Austin is also a Theology instructor at Cardinal Gibbons High School.
We are truly Blessed to have Austin and Missy Faur as a part of our parish life. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Faur!"
